I first wrote about moomoo powered by Futu in March 2021. Although it had just recently launched in Singapore then, after using the app for a week, I was mind-blown by the postive experience and truly believed that all Singaporeans investors should give the moomoo platform a real shot.
I even detailed as many as 9 reasons in that article.
So it was no surprise when I found out in June that they had surpassed 100,000 users in Singapore. I guess that number probably represents a sizable proportion of active investors in the local scene. However, they are not stopping there and plan to reach out to onboard even more users, to benefit more people and kickstart their investment journey.
How do I know that?
Because for the month of September, Futu SG is offering an attractive welcome bundle to entice investors and traders to come onboard and test out their moomoo platform.
Attractive Welcome Bundle Worth SGD 200
Basically, when you sign up with Futu SG before 2nd Oct 2021 and deposit SGD2,700 within 60 days, you can get a share of Apple stock (Ticker: AAPL).
This bundle is worth an estimated SGD 200.
Here’s what you need to do to receive this attractive welcome bundle:
- Step 1: Sign up using this link
- Step 4: Download the moomoo app on your phone and then log in
- Step 5: Set up and open the FUTU SG securities account
- Step 6: Wait for the account to be approved (email will be sent)
- Step 7: Complete an initial deposit of SGD 2,700/HKD 16,000/USD 2,000 before 2nd Oct 2021.
- Step 8: Make 5 trades (excluding futures) to qualify for the free Apple share
There are only 15,000 Apple shares available for redemption from the start of this campaign on 2 Sept 2021. As of today (8 Sept 2021), the Apples shares are still available for redemption.
So please perform the 8 steps as early as possible to avoid getting disappointed!
Building An Investment Portfolio via moomoo
If you are a beginner with a small capital base of SGD 2,700 and worried about the fees you are going to incur, fret not.
Firstly, the moomoo platform offers some of the lowest and competitive fees and trading minimums in Singapore for investing across major financial hubs such as Singapore, Hong Kong and U.S securities, futures and options.
Definitely way lower than traditional brokerages.
In fact, one of moomoo’s aims is to make these activities previously reserved for at least somewhat affluent and financially literate investors more affordable and engaging for the broader market.
Heartlanders like you and me.
Secondly, as part of the welcome bundle, all new users will be offered Unlimited Commission-free trading in the SG, HK and US markets for 180 days.
So you can easily buy 1 share of 5 different companies and achieve diversification even with a small capital. And all these paying zero commissions.
The Mrs and I have taken advantage of moomoo’s special proposition and built up our mini moomoo portfolios for the past 6 months.
Disclaimer: All investments carry risks and the above screenshots are definitely not investment advice! Please do your own research before you make a trade.
I have always set myself a very strict criteria in terms of what I promote/advocate on this blog to my readers, which includes you.
You should noticed from these screenshots that we have close to SGD 20,000 of assets on our Futu SG securities accounts. These are way higher than the minimum requirements needed to qualify for the welcome bundle.
So in this instance, not only am I using the same product and service, I might be taking even more risks than someone who puts in the minimal requirement of SGD2,700.
This also goes to show the confidence we have in Futu SG and their moomoo platform.
What SGD 200 can Buy
If you are sharp enough to notice from the earlier screenshots, the Mrs has actually sold her free Apple Share. It is a conscious decision to sell one of the share to enjoy the perk and keep the other to HODL.
In case your are wondering, here’s what SGD 200 can buy. =p
One year’s supply of Coconut shakes!
Hope you enjoy the moomoo app and platform as much as I do. Feel free to share with me your experience.
Thank you for reading.
